Mount Geurutee Summit
The Samudera Pasai Islamic Monument in North Aceh was built to honor the historical glory of the Samudera Pasai Sultanate, the first Islamic kingdom in Southeast Asia. The monument features a tall tower topped with a large golden dome.
Inside, a historical museum houses artifacts from the Pasai kingdom, including gold dirham coins, ancient tombstones with Arabic calligraphy, and replicas of medieval trading ships.
The monument is an important symbol of the rise of Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia. Its architecture combines classical Islamic design elements with traditional Acehnese ornaments, showcasing historical grandeur.
Facilities in the monument area include gardens, parking space, restrooms, and a prayer room. It is located close to the historical tomb of Sultan Malikussaleh, the founder of the Samudera Pasai kingdom.
