Suhom Waterfall
PLTD Apung is a massive 2,600-ton floating power generator barge stranded in the middle of a residential area in Punge Blang Cut, Banda Aceh. The vessel was dragged 5 kilometers inland from the sea by the devastating 2004 tsunami.
This giant steel vessel sitting in a residential neighborhood stands as visual proof of the tsunami's power. Today, it has been turned into a professionally managed memorial museum.
Visitors can climb onto the deck to enjoy panoramic views of Banda Aceh and inspect the massive generator machinery inside. A memorial garden surrounding the ship features a wall engraved with names of victims.
Near the entrance, there is a tourist information center, local guides, restrooms, and souvenir shops. It is located close to the city center and is easily accessible via the Trans Koetaradja bus.
