Timphan is the most popular traditional steamed cake in Aceh, made from a dough of glutinous rice flour, mashed ripe bananas, coconut milk, and wrapped in young banana leaves. This sweet, chewy cake is filled with sweet grated coconut (*unti*) or egg custard jam (*srikaya*), and steamed until fragrant. Timphan is an essential delicacy served to welcome guests during Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
